DIGITAL NATIVE (2020)

Digital Native (2020, 12mins 38secs duration) is an award winning video experience that has been exhibited in London, Galway, Carlow, Dublin & Paris. It is a performance piece that explores our relationship to our devices. It reflects upon how easily fantasies surrounding digital tools can be hijacked by networks of control to warp and influence our understanding.

The piece questions the ways in which our devices speak back to us about ourselves and the interference that runs in between these cyber relations. Digital Native lives at the intersection of the virtual and the real, giving voice to the new identities and agendas that inhabit the digital sphere. It does not look directly at the narrators of digital deceit, but instead, the work looks internally, reflecting on the experience of the individual that sits in front of the screen.
